Commonly referred to as Plate Coral.
Characteristics
Classificiation
The Fungia genus is divived into four groups[1]:
- Group 1: large septal teeth
- Group 2: saw-like teeth usually with a central rib
- Group 3: middle sized rounded teeth
- Group 4: distinctly non-circular polyp discs
A previous classification of the Fungia genus was based on sub genera[2]:
- Fungia (Ctenactis) -

- Fungia (Pleuractis) -
- Fungia (Verrillofungia) -
