Classification
The order Articulata is divided into 7 families [1];
- Antedonidae - pinnules without dorsal keel, only 10 arms
- Colobometridae - cirri with paired dorsal spines
- Comasteridae - proximate pinnules with comb
- Himerometridae - secondary brachials with 4 or more ossicles
- Mariametridae - secondary brachials with 2 ossicles, always > 10 arms
- Tropiometridae - pinnules all straight and stiff
- Zygometridae - primary brachials joined by syzygy
