Introduction:
Having been into the hobby for quite some time, I felt it was time to take the plunge and do a reef tank. I've had tropical community tank which got converted to an African cichlid tank (malawi peacocks)

System Objectives: To have visually spectacular mini reef in the dining for every one to enjoy..(mainly me lol)

System Type: mixed reef

Display System: Red Sea reefer nano

Strike up Date: 3 June 2016

Display Tank: 450x450x450

Display Lighting: eco tech radion XR30W pro

Stand: Red Sea

Hood: rimless

Sump: 28 liters

Refugium: n/a

Refugium Lighting: n/a


Support systems:

System Water: Natural salt water

Display Water circulation: eco tech MP10 quiet drive

Return Pump: Sicce

Skimmer: Aqua excel

Evaporation Top Up: Tunze osmolator


Chemical Support:

Calcium Addition: none at the moment

Alkilinity Addition: none at the moment

Other Chemical Maintenance: none at the moment

Wasnt too sure whether the photo would upload properly... but it did. I'll get some more photos with more detail and all the other goodies.

Approx 7 days into the cycle and brown stuff has started to grow...i forget the name of it.

Cheers. I wanted to start with some decent equipment. Cycle process is going great, am noticing plenty of little hitch hikers. Will try to photograph them later.
