This is the constant request, but at this point it's unlikely to happen for a few reasons.

It isn't required anyway as the whole forum works on iOS/BBerry and Droid.
Did you search RTAW Reefpedia B4 asking your question?

I know it has been mentioned a lot before however I for one would like to also see it added,

it is free to install on the server and is a plug in that directly connects to phpbb so all the permissions for each user are the same and noting extra is needed to be added.

I would like to know the reasons you say it won't be installed???

A decision was made, well I think it was, but are yet to be made aware of what it actually was.

There are two mobile options available to us; tapatalk does not allow banner ads, and mobile phpBB does.

ok so it comes down to banner adds ok I get that, sites are not always cheep to run.

apparently it dose allow banner adds http://www.tapatalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2383

why don't the admin's ask the members if they would like something like that, there seems to be enough people asking for it.

As Dr_DBW stated above we are awaiting approval from the MASA committee to implement a mobile version, hopefully we will hear from the comittee soon and then the hard working for little appreciation web team will put it into action.

It does, but the way it is set up is inflexible from what I recall, and does not mesh with the way things are set up elsewhere with this site. The less work something in, more likely it is to be done and maintained long term (and that is the important thing, flash in the pan ideas not good, long term sustainable ideas are great).

Tapatalk has many advantages. The best being faster image uploads and better PM services.
Being able to take pics and upload them when you're at the LFS of bargains or oddities is great.
I use tapatalk on my forum. But in saying that, I don't run any ads either, so that isn't a concern for me.
Tapatalk works on Android, Blackberry, Chrome mobile and iOs.
I found tapatalk to seamlessly blend into our operations and also have a mobile version available for devices that don't support tapatalk.
I don't want to talk out of place but to support the users will keep them coming back. The more methods that people can stay in touch with RTAW the better.
It is true that the amount of editing you can do is limited, but it allows another scope of user to keep using the forum.
All in all, I have found it a great resource to 'set and forget' as it needs no continual maintenance.
