My 150L Cube Tank

The tank is roughly 150 Litres with a 80 Litre sump the circulation is done with a 5000lph pump down through the wier with a 50mm drilled hole. Then down to a DIY trickle filter which has filter pad, activated carbon and then bio balls. In the sump is also a DIY skimmer which pulls out about 200mls of black scum each week. I try to do water changes every two weeks, it's handy working at a saltwater hatchery.

Thanks i hope you like

Yeah I work in a hatchery so once you know the basic pricipalsall you have to do is apply them, and who doesn't want to save money. All up the system would have cost about $350.

I have had mine for about the same time but i never paid for mine because we have a collection license at work i had no idea they were worth that much. Where we go collecting they are everywhere and i thought i would try one out at home they do well in the tanks at work although i think my ight is too bright, they like shaded areas and they come right out at night.

Hi

I think those things are called christmas tree corals (not worms) and theyre supposed to be non photosynthetic.

They had one here at the LFS for a week and it died and turned a (beautiful) black. One of the people who worked there (who i originally thoguht was quite nice) said that they do really well in captivity, recovering from bleaching turning a beautiful (and rare) black!

What anemone is that? It looks like a macrodactyla doreensis (LTA) although im pretty sure its a BTA.

Yeah i have three anenomes all bubble tips and the tank bred ocellaris have just gone in last week after a strategy that worked after two weeks. They strategy was to get a clown that went in an anenome and hopefully the pair would get territorial and kick him out, then i just took him back to the hatchery.

Hi

Ribbetribbet, i meant the anemone in the photo with the clowns. I think the one below the soft coral is some sort of euphyllid sp. Not too sure though.

I think the coral is commonly known (and exported) as christmas tree coral (sphaerella sp) and i think its non photosynthetic. What did ATJ say about their identity and care? (guess he'd know mroe than i  )

Amphiprion, what nitrates are you running at? DId the BTAs take a while to find a nice crevice to bury their feet in?

the nitrate levels are fine, i don't do too much water testing my theory is keep up the water changes. The bta's were the first thing that were put into the tank so when they got settled i planned everything around them, as you know they like to move over evrything before they settle.
Thanks
