For someone who would rather give out golden Kalashnikov's to his home town cronies than give a loaf of bread to his countrymen (the marsh arabs) I think he got exactly what he deserved.
as for the death sentence being a "sin". It was only a few hundred years ago we were beheading and burning people at the stake for a lot less than what this evil bastard did.
and as for who's next I reckon KIM JONG IL would be a good start. At least it would give his people a bit of a rest from all the state enforced dancing. I am betting that dancing is not much fun when your malnourished.

There were many more people in greater need of "liberation" than the Iraqi people. Look at the African countries, there is ethnic cleansing going on there. Millions of people are being wiped out and many more are dieing of disease and starvation
. Now THERE is a region where the coalition could have really done some good. But unfortunately we just throw money at them and wish them all the best
. The various charities are achieving more results on the ground than any of the world’s government.
Sorry for the rant but I think sometimes we need a reality check after being swept away in the media hype and forgetting about the little guy.

People in greater need of liberation...my opinion only off course but i think there are close to 300,000 dead iraqi's which were killed during sadams regime who would disagree with that.
But there is need for more aid in african countrys...i would agree with that.
The point is Sadam was an evil man, and im not talking about in a religiouse sense, he defiled everything it meant to be human. Im no huge fan of the death penalty, but every day this man lived..in and out of custody he was a threat to innocent people, if not with his own actions, by the actions of those acting in his name.
just my opinion off course.....but gee isnt it good to be able to express my opinion without fear of retribution against me and my family from my government.
i love australia!

There is no way that you can argue that Iraqis are better off now than they were before, but then that was never a concern as far as the coalition was concerned.
Saddam was "taken care of" because the US needed a victory in their war against terror and they couldn't catch Osama.
IMO, the invasion of Iraq has made things worse and has actually made Al Qaeda stronger because of the increased Anti-US sentiment that it has generated across the world.

Well what's the point of investing billions of dollars in weapons and military equipment if don't get to blow something up...

The coalition should tried some of this De…Mo…cracy thing there’re always going on about. Before riding into Iraq with all guns blazing. When will people learn that violence only begets violence.

IMO it doesnt really matter too much what they do with him; i mean, whether they have him hanged or let him sit in a jail cell, he still loses all teh influence he has on teh iraqi people.
Quite frankly, i think it would probably have been better (at least for the american regime) to keep him in a jail cell somewhere merely for the fact that it would mean that he would be still clinging on as a reminder of the american rule over the country as well as being the greatest humiliation to Saddam himself as well as his supporters etc.
Having said that, although there are many moral implications of hanging people and other forms of capital punishment, one cannot deny the fact that the (real) possibility of being killed for a crime is a very strong deterrent indeed. Examples of this would include the relative lack of drug related incidences in Singapore or the few crimes commited in China.
In any case, who is it who elected the united states as the world police who decides who needs to be liberated? Even if that were the case, shouldnt Saudi be one of the forerunners of the list? Oh wait, theyre friends with the states.... for the moment at least.
Just crapping outta my mouth, as usual
