It is one of two algae on the list of the world's 100 worst invasive species compiled by the IUCN Invasive Species Specialist Group...... if that helps put its global impact into perspective.

Robert Fenner's "The Conscientious Marine Aquarist"?

I have it right here. Next to the 3-volume set of Corals Of The World.

Are there any businesses in Australia that try to identify source countries for customers or make a point of advising which fish are captive bred? I'd like to make an informed decision wherever possible.

Also, can anyone recommend a fish ID, selection and care book? The internet tends to throw up some wild inconsistency particularly in relation to tanks size and sustainable sourcing..

I often recommend the Conscientious Marine Aquarist, by Fenner.

The author refers to a part 3 for corals - is this available anywhere?

BTW - the main focal point in the first 2 parts is fish sources, but in Australia (I believe) it's illegal to bring any live fish or coral into the country. It makes these posts informative but not entirely appropriate.

My tank uses 4.3 tonnes of carbon every year (1275 KW/h per 115 days). I have offset its carbon emissions, you should consider doing the same. (This was my 4 footer too!)
