Many don't like direct lighting at all, some will even bleach. I've got all the rhodactis mostly under LEDs, most are under about 60 watts of LED in total over three feet (1.5 ft from light under .5 feet water). None of the corals under the lower PAR (40-80) are having issues with growth, I have fantastic growth with fluorescent tubes in daylight spectrums but it isn't so great for environmental reasons. Generally if they float off then there's a lighting issue, they tend to split and spew out their guts when the water isn't right for them e.g. you stir up too much detritus.
Try making them on an angle in the tank if they do go in a high lighting area, or under partial shade. Fluffy morphs will not care what lighting you have. I have one taking over that is directly under (.5ft) a metal halide, others doing well under 100w of daylight LED.
That said, that they do okay under such low PAR does not mean they are flourishing as they could be under the right mix of spectrums in a stronger light unit.
