Extensions and other ideas.

To Implement

To Look Into

  • Extension:Workflow - Allows dynamic content areas called tags which can be switched between pre-selected states by clicking. The states can contain normal content such as images and categorisation links.
  • Extension:Gallery2wiki - use gallery2 as a backend in MediaWiki
  • Extension:Todo Tasks - This extension provides the ability to create and modify todo tasks which get assigned to some wiki user(s). The extension also provides the capability of emailing the assignee(s) of the task upon creation/modification of the task. The extension also allows each wiki user to review all of their assigned tasks.
  • Extension:IRC Chat - This extension allows users to engage in an IRC chat, using PJIRC through the MediaWiki interface.
  • Extension:AutoLink - when a new page is created, or an existing page is saved, Some of the specific words in the page content will automatically become links to other pages.
  • Extension:SearchLog - adds a new special page called Special:SearchLog which allows you to select a period to generate a table of search phrases and their usage count.
  • Extension:Variables - allows the addition of new built in variables.
  • Extension:EmbedVideo - adds a parser function called #ev for embedding video clips from popular video sharing services.
  • Wikipedia Ads - displays web banner-style advertisements, some of which are animated, for various Wikipedia maintenance collaborations, WikiProjects, policies, guidelines, processes and practises, such as barnstars, featured articles and edit summaries. The ads rotate at random each time the page is refreshed, and can be cycled manually by clicking the "show another" button in the bottom-right corner of the box. Clicking on the ad will take you to a relevant page; to view the image description page, click the "file info" link.
